Jeffrodgers Jan 19, 2010 12:25 PM

Have any of you took 5 minutes of your time to quit worrying about the python ban and realized the pain and suffering that is going on in Haiti? I know this ban weighs heavy on your shoulders but come on their is way more important issues going on in the world right now!

Please take 5 minutes of your time and donate to the people in haiti, you can text haiti 90999 to donate $10 for the people suffering in haiti. The 10 dollars with be added to your cell phone bill. Thousand of people have lost their lives in haiti, many are suffering with out medicine or clean water to drink. Do the right thing, donate please!

Our government is about to spend billions of dollars helping these guys out when already... when our economy and debt is in crisis... We have no problem helping other countries out... when we don't even help our own citizens.... not to mention all the Hatian refugees we will be taking on... to get free healthcare and welfare..... while some people go out and work for a living... and have to fight the government constantly for the right to keep our businesses open...

Im sorry... but when I lost everything I owned in Katrina.... no relief force from any other country came in to help me get back on my feet again....

Haiti has one of the most corrupt governments in the world.. Doi you really think they will use all of this money properly??

My heart goes out to the Haition people BUT having had LOTS of personal experience in Haiti dating back to the early 70's a LOT of the aid will be syphoned off by people in charge. Once the $$ starts coming in corrupt people in power will become more wealthy and the poor will get poorer...This is how it's been and always how it will be....Even still I donated a small amount of money....thanks

My heart and tax dollars go out to the haitian folk..i live in south fl, so last thing i want to see is another influx of illegals, but it seems under o'bama he has allowed all the haitians here illegaly to stay. Which i can understand, dont send them right back, but do send them back..that way they can help in the rebuilding of thier country. Also, i read in the paper the schools are preparing for a wave of illegals to come from haiti..that's all we need.. my sons class is overcrowded now and the teacher is stretched thin. So lets dump some kids that probally dont speak english with god knows what kind of diseases in our childrens classrooms.
You know if we just keep letting illegals come here unfettered our country will eventually end up like the one they are leaving.
Like i said i pray for those folks, but we need to tighten things up here at home and deal with our own problems. Im all for helping them out with personel and aid, but not just throwing money at them blindly.
Good day

Mike

I love Haiti and the Haitian people BUT I DO NOT WANT THEM ALL HERE. If we continue to let in illegal aliens we are going to turn into a third world nation from within. THIS HAS TO STOP AT SOME POINT....I MAY NOT BE POLITICALLY CORRECT BUT I'M TRUTHFULL...

You're totally right.... I mean how much more can this country take.... We already have Millions of illegal aliens living here.. while hard working Americans get the crap taxed out of them.... It really sucks writing those quarterly check when you think about all the people that don't pay them...... ANd Bringing a large group of indigenous 3rd world people and dumping them into our welfare system seems wrong in every way... Anyone just needs to spend a little time in Little Haiti in Miami to know what that may be like... When you bring people into a society, with no way of making a legitimate living... it usually leads to illicit activity

The company I work for is sending tons of free medication and medical supplies, as well as doing a "dollar for dollar" match for employee contributions. I'm proud to work for such a globally-minded company

I fully support any efforts of private individuals and companies to help in situations such as this.

But let's keep our eyes on the prize here. If S373/HR2811 goes through, many of us will lose everything we have. If that happens, we won't have any money to donate to the next disaster relief fund.

Jeff, You started this thread to start a flame you troll. I disagree that what is happening in Haiti is a more serious problem than the govermment trying to stop me from making a living. Your a troll and always have been and to prove it show us proof you have donated a dime to Haiti. Better yet volunteer to go to Haiti and help out since it means so much to you. But your a disgrace to the human race and will only talk the talk but won't walk the walk. The boa community will be a much better place with you not participating. Andrew

Jeffrodgers Jan 20, 2010 12:57 PM

Andrew people have lost their live in haiti but that is not more important than you being able to make a living off selling snakes. You can always find another job to make income, people can't come back from death and destruction. You're a very heartless person Andrew.... shame on you for not helping with the relief in Haiti.

If I'm a Troll than you are a coward loser that has to pan handle snakes to make a living instead of finding a real job like NORMAL people in this country.

PBM Jan 20, 2010 11:47 PM

People have lost their lives defending your right to run your mouth. What are you sending to them or their families? Andrew runs a business, I would call that a "normal" thing to do. Part of running that business is paying taxes, and where do you think all the money the government is sending over there comes from? SO, our government wants to spend his hard earned tax dollars, while at the same time, they're trying to eliminate his means of paying those taxes. So yeah, for some people, fighting these bills comes before sending money over to another country. Where is all this money going? The average per capita income is around $400.00 there is roughly 9 million people in Haiti, and there has already been over a BILLION dollars in aid offered by various governments. Now add in all the extra money sent from bleeding hearts, and we've probably seen their average ANNUAL revenue outdone in a week. How much more do they need? You can't throw money at every problem in the world. Want to know about some of the corruption from some real people, talk to any missionary that has been to Haiti. I'll send money right now, if it goes to a fund to buy you a plane ticket over there, so you can REALLY help. Cause I would bet your money doesn't do a damn thing! Well, not for the poor people that need it.
