brand new setup!

I just spent a couple days getting this just right so I don't have to disturb them for awhile. The poor kids have been moved around too much!

I used the brown paper instead of substrate and LOTS of plants, my favorite piece of driftwood (I have been carrying it around with me for about 20 years!), and some other cool stuff - can you find the platypus???

Wow! That looks great! How large of an enclosure is it?

Please let me know how the brown paper works out - I might switch over at my next major cleaning.

Thanks! I'm pretty proud of it!
It is a 29gal hi which is 30"L x 18"h x 12"d
I think I have so many plants in there I can keep most of the water on them rather then the paper. I have to say it will be a BIG job when paper changing day comes. I'll keep you posted.

I have three in there 2 green, one brown. I have been so confused on their gender and separated them at one point but when I moved them each time I took a good look with my hand lens and decided they were all females. I saw NOTHING that resembles the post anal scales of a male on any of them. But today, the one I originally thought was a male may be a male! The head bobbing was going on, but this time its dewlap seemed brighter. I was across the room and of course he stopped as I approached.

I guess time will tell!

lele hi...just so you know the easiest way to see a male in anoles is the size of the head and the dewlap.

males heads are noticable longer and wider.

their dewlaps will be almost as long as their heads while female just berly stick out more than couple cm

Nice set-up!

If the male is the brown I'd separate them now that he's bobbing... if it's one of the greens you'll probably be ok
