freeze affect pythons in glades?

rtdunham Jan 19, 2010 09:57 PM

I don't know that the central florida freeze reached to the glades. but the cold spell pushed all the way to miami.

is there any chance the cold might have killed the burms in the glades? has there been any effort to search for survivors or casualties? IF the cold killed large numbers of them, might that torpedo the rush to judgement with the python ban? Seems like people concerned about the legislation would want to check that out.

anyone know?

This has been done as best we can already. Yes the freeze was here where he Burmese are. To the best of my knowledge no one has found any dead pythons but considering the nature of the beast this would be expected. There were, however, lg. numbers of dead Iguanas, Cuban Anoles, A. sagrei, etc here by the tens of thousands....
