Inundate US F&W with e-mails...

jsschrei Jan 20, 2010 08:29 PM

Start TODAY. Here's the link to their contact page:

http://www.fws.gov/DUSPIT/contactus.htm

I'd point out the following:
1) many boa constrictor subspecies get much more than 5'.

2) These species can't survive outside of Florida (I have been citing: Pyron RA, Burbrink FT, Guiher TJ (2008) Claims of Potential Expansion throughout the U.S. by Invasive Python Species Are Contradicted by Ecological
Niche Models. PLoS ONE 3(8): e2931. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0002931) and that there are studies that refute the USGS report.

3) How much interstate transport is important for you- whether you want to buy or sell, indicate how important is is for your hobby or business, and for the reptile GENE POOL for healthy and genetically strong specimens!

I'm sending mine. I think I'll send e-mails to them EVERY DAY.

Sorry, but I almost didn't open either of your threads because it looked as if you were saying "typo, DON'T send them e-mails" Because if you don't look inside the thread, that's what it looks like. I'd like to point out to them the boa c. sub-species that have always had the ability to migrate north into the county, but NEVER have. Sonoran boas come to mind. Heck, why don't we have Rosy boas in all parts of the country. I think we really need to discredit the report that keeps getting thrown in our faces. It's junk science, plain and simple. Of course that seems to be the science our country is running on at present.
