>>I never saw the football ovulation with this girl. She shed six weeks ago after having my male in with her off and on for a month. After the shed I put them back together and there was no interest. So I took him back out for awhile then reintroduced him later. He started courting again. So I was like surely she's not. Of course I found info stating that young males will court sometimes gravid females.
It's also possible that the laying on her side that you saw is pre-ovulation twisting (as Jeff Ronne would say 'do the twist'!) and the actual ovulation is still to come. In my 4 litters I have only seen the actual ovulation once and it was pure chance.
In my experiences the entire courting procedure takes more than a month (but of course there have been plenty of occurances here on the forums where that is not the case). If the male still shows interest, leave him in there, that's my motto.
When you say he showed no interest, how long do you leave him in before you remove him?
Either way, I hope the best for you because it sounds like that will be an awesome litter!
