Jlassiter Jan 21, 2010 08:38 PM

These two just shed so I decided to snap a few shots. I got this pair from Michelle Rogers. The parents are of Bob Applegate lineage and have almost no black at all......

She's turning more of a light olive green color.....

And the male's bands do glow bright red/orange......

I think they'll throw some offspring like their parents you posted....A lot of traits/genes/looks are recessive with thayeri...Has any MSPs hatched out of that Applegate line? I think a reduced black MSP would looks pretty darn nice.....Uh oh! I got another idea for a project......LOL

How about breeding a no black thayeri to a hallow saddled thayeri and line breeding it to eventually produce an almost solid colored thayeri?????

Imagine this one with no black.......

A solid color animal would be cool, but what if we pushed it further to the black disappearing and leaving the hollow look like it was just faded where the saddles should be, that would be cool too....lol
BTW I love that one you pictured, the black is what sets it off

Then it would be a solid colored snake with smudges of color on the dorsum.......ooooooo.....Kewl......I think that would be one of the products on the way toward a solid colored snake....it could take MANY generations.....LOL

Thanks...I miss that little girl....
She was the product of Old Yeller's Brother X My Lemke Olive Leonis.....I produced her in 2004.....
