Reminder to Terms of Service

PHFaust Jan 23, 2010 09:44 PM

It is that time apparently. While I try not to take a heavy hand here, I feel at this time I must. I understand there are personal issues involved in any business, but Kingsnake.com is NOT the place for those personal issues to be aired. This is becoming a disruption to the forums and the hognose community as a whole. Name calling, personal attacks, email attacks to members will NOT be tolerated. This is the one warning the community will receive. If you want to fight about how the genetics evolved, I am cool with that, but when you make this your personal high school yard, we will have problems.

Now to remind everyone of the terms of service they signed up for (and agreed to as both advertisers, classified account holders and general forum members) this is where we seem to be running into issues. Please feel free to email me privately with any questions on our terms of service, but right now the school yard is closed.

Other Terms

Posting obscene materials, profanity, or racial, sexual, personal, or religious slurs to this website are violations.

Using pethobbyist.com to post warnings or notices about other persons or businesses, whether a pethobbyist.com classified vendor or not, is a violation and may be grounds for immediate termination of your account.

Posting personal attacks about individuals is a violation. We welcome discussion and debate on our forums; however, we ask that you stick to the issues, not the other users of the site.

Threats, harassment, disruption, and/or generally "trolling" (seeking to disrupt the site with inflammatory posts and actions) are violations. Technical disruption of the site is considered a particularly serious violation and when appropriate, legal recourse will be sought. Threats of violence will be reported to appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Using our site's email system for the purpose of harassing or sending obscene materials, profanity, or racial, sexual, personal, or religious slurs or personal attacks to another registered user is a violation and may be grounds for immediate termination of your account. If you believe you are a victim of such an incident, please contact the site coordinator of the appropriate site for assistance.

Email or other communications containing profanity or obscenity or containing racial, religious, ethnic, sexual, or personal slurs or attacks to the pethobbyist.com employees or volunteer staff is a violation and may be grounds for immediate termination of your account.

Cindy, Thank you for calling the forum back to order. Each of us, including myself, can relate stories of deals that went sour, snakes shipped in poor condition, payments not received, traded snakes not received, lies told, friendships ruined, etc. etc. This is not the forum for venting, but for the honest discussion of those topics relating to the hognose snakes that we have come to love, or enjoy. Anyway, that is the reason I chose to participate.

The last time I checked, this was still the good old USA, and any person wishing to start up a business selling snakes may follow their dream and do so, without asking the permission of anyone else. Though I am only a hobbyist, I am glad some of you choose to breed enough of the more rare morphs to make them available at a reasonable price. I now have a few hognose morphs that I could never have afforded just 5 years ago. Working together many things are possible in the hognose world. Working against each other leads to chaos, and what you read on the forum yesterday.
