I got my first snake and still dont know what kind of ball it is? How do I tell?
I am trying to attach a pic it just wont work.
How much was it?
Judging by the way the question was asked, im going to offer up the 99 percent accurate guess that its a normal.
I hope this works I got it from a pet shop in Minnesota. I got it for about 45.00 I have no idea how old or what sex it is. It has its first vet apt in two weeks.
I cant get it to post the pic what am i doing wrong

Sorry all I get is a facebook log in screen - if you've got the picture already uploaded to the internet go to the picture and right click on it - click on copy image location - then come back and paste it between [img] and [ /img] (make sure there are no spaces and the picture should show.
It's probably a normal tho.

Normal!
Yeah, definitely a normal.
As for age and sex...without knowing the size and weight of the snake, can't even guess on the age. It doesn't look like a hatchling, so it could be a year or two old depending on how well it was cared for. Sexing is more difficult, though you could ask your vet to sex it, if he is experienced at sexing ball pythons. Typical way is to probe it but not something recommended trying without having an experienced prober there to demonstrate the technique. It is possible to injure the snake if probing is not done right.

I am just taking it to the vet as a normal check up I read somewhere to do that every six months. I just do want it to get sick as it is a loved family pet by me and my kids and my husband loves it too.
Honestly,
I know no one that takes there BPs to the vet, unless it is very ill....But, if you really are new with BPs and you are taking the BP to a reputable vet that can totally educate you on the species than I am all for it. Good luck with your new snake, and be careful....They are like salty potato chips....You can't just have one...And there are many people on Kingsnake that will be happy to add some more awesome BPs to you and your family.
Regards,
Bill R.
