What is this?

I found this in my female boa's water dish. If this is what I think it is, then my female is really a male?

Males depositing sperm in water dishes......

Not sperm.
Not even a sperm plug.
They are in fact hemipenial sloughs ( sheds). They grow along with the snake, so they gotta shed to.

I've actually helped a young Boa pull a retained hemipenes shed off

They didn't look anything like that goop in the dish

That's interesting , I'm curious about this.

What's really weird about this is I had a guy who is really knowledgeable about snakes tell me it's a female. He showed me the smaller spurs and said it's a female. The snake is only three years old and it's already 6ft and 12lbs so I assumed he was correct because females are normally larger than males. But now i'm not so sure.

Spurs are just an indicator, not an absolute truth... I've got a female I call trannie that's got huge spurs, and males with small ones... Get a set of probes and learn how to use them. But in my eyes pop them when they are young, that is the for sure way!

I got a vet coming over in a few weeks that i'm gonna have probe. We're all in agreement though that the pasty white stuff in the water dish is caused from a male?
