Georgia Update

SgtStinky Jan 25, 2010 08:06 PM

The Sportsmen's & Animal Owners' Voting Alliance has posted an alert on GA SB 303, the Python Regulation and Licensing bill. The link has information on the bill and what it is going to mean if it is passed! Halfway down the page there is a "click here" to send every Senator on the committee your thoughts. Please be respectful.

Thanks

If this bill passes, it will be required that the owners of any of those animals will have to house the animal in a facility that is separated from their house! TALK ABOUT COST PROHIBITIVE!

Man, that is RIDICULOUS!

What's written above is purely my opinion. In fact, MOST of what you read on the internet is someone's opinion. Don't take it too seriously

Separate Housing , that's entirely uncalled for and outrageous !!

Individual licensing ( probably high cost) and now the housing requirement

I think its quite clear what they are up to, just as Delaware did
made it too expensive to Keep the animals

The insider word is that they, the committee and our DNR, won't require the separate housing and insurance in the final version, but the current bill is very clear in writing what will be required and it is flat out ban. In any event, there is no justification, we do not have a threat to the public or to the environment.

Let this be a warning to everyone, start organizing at the state level!! Develop a database of reptile owners, breeders and friendly pet shops. We will be playing catch up, but we will win!
