Striking ball python please help

Hi i got a new ball python from the all ohio reptile show. Its a male and just a baby which i have had for 2 weeks now. Now for the problem he likes to strike at things when i have him out. I have had many before this and this is the first time i have ever seen a ball strike like this.I need some help on this one if you guys think he will stop over time with alot of holding or if it is just his temperment.I have him in a 36x18x16 critter cage which he seems to like he wonders around and seems fine in the cage. It is just when i take him out he will strike at this not at me so far but just random stuff while im holding him.Any help would be awsome and thanks.I will post pics when i get them up.
