ackie question

nickm45 Jan 26, 2010 06:32 PM

Was just going through the PE site again and the one thing I dont understand about the ackies is it says that pairs always become male and female. But the more research I try to do and the more I look for availability it seems everybody is looking for females, if they all bought a pair as hatchlings thay would end up with both sexes and there should plenty to go around dont want to sound stupid it just seems like there should be more of them thanks for reading

I have heard from past peoples post that if you buy a group of ackies lets say a group of three or four that and out of the group one will turn out to be the oposite sex, lets say you have all females one out of that group will change sexually to a male and the others wound up staying female now thats what i heard and ive read, now i could be wrong let the big guns come out and explain it better maybe sombody knows different.

I havn't had good results with large groups, it seems mostly males emerge. Just now I am starting to separate babies into pairs only. I remember in a post a few years ago Frank said specifically that he has an over 90% rate, when placing a pair together as hatchlings, that they will be male and female.

Cheers,
Mike.
