drawings for big built in cage

saagbay Jan 27, 2010 07:24 AM

i just recently discovered google sketch up, and had a lot of fun playing around with it, but i wanted to draw something instead of just random thing so i ended up drawing a big corner cage that i think would be fun for a green tree monitor., ive always wanted one so that where i got the idea

i can picture my future hear room with something like this in the corner housing 2 green tree monitors. a stack of breeding cages on either side with BRBs on one side and JCPs on the other... lol every one has dreams right?

an open view of the inside

lol im a big guy you might need to double the dimensions for me to live in there.

I do like the design and if inside and outside slightly changed would work for the BLUE tree monitors lol (or a green one) iguana, water dragons etc.

okay okay okay lol it can be a BLUE tree

so how would you change it

I love the triangle hide/shelf thing and would leave that there but slightly altered size per what animal would be housed.

instead of the shelves I think with a iguana or tree monitor that a tree or some kinda of branch structure be put in there. I think aussie water dragons would be great in that plus maybe a small tree

ohh yeah i would have live plants and maybe even a tree in there thats what the grassy walls are lol i have no clue how to go about drawing a tree or anything

lol ok. that was some great design work done. I am beyond horrible with things like that.

I wish I could tho, I have great ideas in my head some times but i suck at trying to get them out. My ex was a good artist so i told her ideas and she drew them as we went along.

IMO that isn't the best enclosure for a Green Tree Monitor. The size isn't the issue, the decorations on the inside are rather sparse.

I wouldn't hesitate to build the exterior but I think the inside is a little lacking for a tree monitor.

No offense but it looks like one of those cat climbing poles.

Line the entire inside with cork panels add a few 3-4" logs going from floor to ceiling. A bunch of vines and a few cork tubes on the walls. 2 or 3 birdhouses and some additional plants to fill the space and you would have a great tree Monitor cage. Combined with a rain system and a floor drain and your in buisness.

Good Luck
