Bubbly stool?

jazmaniandevil Jan 27, 2010 07:48 PM

I was just feeding and my snake ignored the mouse once again. I turned my attention to another snake and I heard this really loud farting noise. Looked over and he had just defecated but it was all bubbly! I've never seen this before! I'd also expect the poo to be all white urates because he has been refusing to eat for the past 4 weeks, but yellow and brown? Could there be parasites or is this normal?
Also, he's been extremely restless, though he's lived in the same conditions/set-up peaceably for the past year and a half. He just can't seem to stop digging around the edges of his tank. Every time I walk in (4-5 times daily-my room) he's out and about digging and crawling around way faster than he used to.
Could he be looking for a place to hibernate? He was up last winter and had no issues.
Temps are mid 80's on hot, upper 60's lower 70's on cool. he's an 07, 3.5 ft on med mice.
Thanks!
~Jasmine

refusal to eat, bad stools, pacing cage... are all signs that somethings NOT right.
probably not parasites being its been fed f/t rodents but it could be bad amoebas in its gut track, this is often brought on through dirty water bowls. if it hasnt eaten soon i would say a vet.visit is in order.
good luck
