Should the cage have a basking light on in one corner all day or one that comes on for a few minutes at a time (controlled by a timer) several times a day. I am afraid of overheating a newborn
What is the best temp for the cool side of the cage?

babies first weeks
Gee I am saying that a lot. I am beginning to wonder if there is anyone else out there?
The baby is doing quite well so far and is very active in his cage today. I have not seen him eat yet but I have provided him with fruit flies and my vet says they will usually start eating after a few days. I have several babies so far this year. A baby leopard gecko. 2 baby crested geckos and now the chameleons. I breed one or two pairs of each for the sheer fun of it. I am hooked on the egg laying and hatching process. Its amazing to me, although quite an expensive hobby! I have several other veiled eggs sweating and one is slitting right now. Gotta go bye!
