Who is going to team up and write the first and/or definitive book on hognoses including color & pattern morphs, husbandry and biology? I think we need one... geez, even a Bartlett's one would be passable. I haven't run across one yet.

I was wondering the same thing, although I dont need to know much more about them, I think it would be a cool book to display to my book shelf.

0.1 Western Hognose (Yellow Phase)
0.1 Western Hognose (High White)
0.1 Western Hognose (Normal)
1.0 Western Hognose (Het for Albino)
1.0 Western Hognose (Red Phase Het for Albino)
I support this idea in 100 %. It would be good way to promote hognose and pictures with colour morphs would be stunning !
best regards

Although it's not the in depth book containing much morph info, Jenea Wood has done a good job with an entry level book that works as an introduction to the species. Here's a link.

I started working on two during the off season. Between training, breeding and a hectic life it's gonna take a little bit more time. I am planning on making a small $10 variety and a really nice version. I would also like a couple more things to prove out before I finish the big one.

If con is the opposite of pro, does that mean congress is the opposite of progress??
I am in the middle of a huge hognose article... I have gotten the Ok to use photos from several breeders and keepers already... It will be a good read for sure that will cover most, if not all of the hog morphs and how they work genetically... I am about 3/4 done and its looking good so far...
I kept them in the late 80's and bred them in 94 and 95... I stopped working with them because it took a long time to move clutches and my venomous projects consumed my time... I had a daughter born 5 years ago so I had to stop my venomous projects and just got back into hognose snakes again pretty strongly thanks to Brad and Brent... LOL
One thing I have learned over the years is no matter how much you know about a species, there is always something new to learn... If someone came out with a good book on hogs, I would buy it in a second... Especially if it were one of you cats on this site who wrote it... LOL
