Getting my first snake ever today.

louisianalure Jan 29, 2010 02:15 PM

My wife is on her way to go pick up a beautiful corn snake for me this evening. From what i've learned, I think it's motley. Will need help to get an exact identity on this lil guy. I'm thinking it's a yearling as well. Being purchased from petco. I'm excited. Will have pictures very soon.

Possibly a creamsicle, or an amel. Not a motley.

Nice snake. Enjoy.

its hard to tell with the fuzzy picture
but my guess until seeing clearer pictures would be amelanistic.

amelanistic was my first guess, but after some reading, I figured it to be a creamsicle. I'll try to get a better picture posted up that's taken with a real camera, not a camera phone. I also need to take my new lil one to figure out the sex. I'm guessin female, but not experienced enough to know for sure. Thanks for the help!

It's either an amel corn or a creamsicle. A creamsicle is an amel corn crossed with an Emory's rat snake. There's no way to tell which it is for sure without knowing the snake's genetic history.
