I recently purchased a red ackie from a great breeder last month. The ackie is about 15 months old and the breeder fed him mainly roaches and pinkies. I throw crickets in his cage and he just sits there and watches them. I would give him roaches, but the wife has something against bringing roaches into the house, so I am stuck with trying to feed him crickets. Any suggestions on how I can convert the ackie into eating crickets? He currently is feeding on pinkies, raw turkey, raw fish, raw steak. Thanks for any advice that you can give me in converting him into a cricket eater.

If he was eating roaches he will eat crickets. There is no need to convert him.

With you watching him he may not be inclined to appease you however once you are gone...he is eating them. Give it time.
