Creamsicle question

bigbearhook Jan 30, 2010 01:47 PM

Has any of you noticed any agression tendancies with creamsicles. The reason I ask is I just aquired an adult male and he vibrates his tail a lot when I go to pick him up and this morning I was holding him and he hissed and struck at me. It was a closed mouth strike as if more of a warning but I just found this to be weird for an adult corn. What do you think???

I think any cornsnake can behave that way if it has not been handled enough. It is afraid of you. It might take time to get it calmed down.

Kent is right
any corn snake can behave like that if not handled much or simply not quite used to a new environment.
I work with corns and corn/emoryi crosses and I don't really see any difference in behavior. They all have their own way about them.
Give it some time to get acclimated to it's new environment and then handle it on a regular basis and it will be fine.

My Creamsicle just started doing these same things. Didn't start till after it's first feed since I brought it home. After I pick it up, she calms down though. I've been giving more time to get adjusted though, so should be fine in a couple days, from what I understand.
