Byron,

I have never been a big FL king guy, but those two blow me away! Very nice. Did you produce them?

I recently got in the FL kings myself, and these were a 'must have' for sure.

I didnt produce these - but am looking forward to when I do.

Awesome Mosaics Byron!, I would do back-flips to find some like that in the southern Okeechobee area where they originated!

That would be just awesome.

There doesnt seem to be much history out there on this morph...
Would you mind posting alittle more of what you know???

I had no idea where they even originated until you just posted it - thanks for that!

Well, although there have been a couple aberrant partial striped individuals captured from the Tampa Bay area of Hillborough County(David Justice), a few have also been found in Manatee County as well. However it seems that the origin of most aberrants known in the hobby today were founded from wild-caught animals from Hendry County, which is just south southwest of Lake Okeechobee in the abundant cane field areas. These were captured by Carl May, a snake hunting buddy of Sean Belanger in March of 2004. The snakes were actually normal phenotype kings that were collected at the time, but BOTH were gravid females. Sean B. later hatched the eggs from one of the gravid females that he chose to keep(gave the other to Phil Peaks), and out of 6 snakes that Sean hatched, four of them were normal, and two were completely aberrant. These are the snakes that originated most of the aberrant lines that are seen in the hobby today.

best regards, ~Doug

I think Bill Brant had these before Phil. I will call them and ask them about where they got their original stock.

I have both lines and there is a difference bewteen them.

Yeah, I do seem to recall Bill Brant(Gourmet Rodent) having some aberrants. That would be interesting to see what the deal is there on them.

I saw the first ones from Bill brant before Amazon made a deal with him to sell the offspring. They had a LOT more and produce huge quantities of the Mosaics. I think they came before Sean ballinger found his stock and they are definety different but allelic with the Ballinger stuff.

Its too bad because Brant did not know what he had and sold them real cheap. That is why these new morphs are so affordable.
