i got him last sunday at the columbia show in sc. you know, i didn't even ask names or anything...it was the last 20 mins of the show and a lot of the dealers were basically giving away their copperheads and cottonmouths. i asked if he was feeding yet and the guy told me he wasn't sure...so, i assume that meant no. i've tried feeding him a pinky but he shows no interest. i'll give him another week to settle in. any feeding tips for these little ones? i have an adult copperhead who feeds on F/T mice. this is my first baby.

Grrrr baby Coppers that arent feeding on pinkys can be a royal pain. They might only go for anoles or small frogs to get them going. Try senting them. Good luck with him

Chances are anyway. Baby copperheads are very difficult to get feeding. It's like they don't understand, it's food. I've had babies go for over 3 months without taking their first meal. And tried everything you can think of. But after the initial pain in the ass of force feeding them 2 or 3 times, they pick it up on their own and usually there are no more problems. Feel free to email me if you need any hep or have any other questions. Copperheads are about my favorite snakes in general. And I'd love to help anyone interested in keeping them.
