egg fertilization rules...

Krackaboy1 May 25, 2003 05:09 PM

Just had another clutch layed early this morning. Candled the eggs right away, and one was red, the other clear or yellow (not yellow like a rotten old egg, just a clear yellow glow compared to the red). Is a clear egg (just hours after being layed) ALWAYS infertile, or is it worth incubating for a while?

How long after laying with results like this should I wait to breed the female again? Just don't want to stress her, but also don't want any more blanks.

I actually just recently had 4 eggs laid that were like that.
They were clear the first night they were laid, and then the next day I could see the veins. About a week after that I could see the embryo moving, it was pretty awesome.

I hope this helps!
