Cutting "window" in sterilite bin

Juile Feb 02, 2010 06:48 PM

Hi
Has anyone ever cut a "window" on the side of one of those opaque plastic bins commonly used for snakes?

I am thinking of using a sheet of clear acrylic I have 15 by 8 on side of 30 inch by 14 inch high plastic bin and siliconing it from the inside as a window which allows better view but not sure if bin will hold shape.

I had planned to cut the window with sharp box cutter .

Thank you

The acrylic, if attached well should keep it in shape. There are tubs out there that are made to be pretty see thru. If you want an enclosure you can veiw your animal you are best of with a display type enclosure

Your right I was thinking same thing yesterday. I am going to just buy a 30 gallon extra high tank. Its for small arboreal geckos and add some type corkbark bakground, etc as it is nicer than the $12 high bin I bought.

Will just use that for clothes.

Thanks
