Are cb70s big enough?

voodoomagik Feb 02, 2010 10:10 PM

Hi, everyone!
I apologize if this has been discussed before. I did a search of the forums, but didn't have much success.
Is a CB70 tub large enough to house and breed a full grown female ball python for her whole life or will she outgrow it?
If not, what do you guys use for your BPs?
Thanks in advance!
Aaron

In my opinion, cb-70s are the perfect size for female balls, and should suffice for life for all but the largest specimens.

Unless you get one of them random ginormous balls a CB-70 should be fine.

I have a bunch of cb70s that I was planning to put my male boas in, but I decided to put them in 4 x 2 boaphiles to give them more room. Now I have 22 empty cb70s.
It sounds like I could easily keep a few ball python projects in them.
Thanks again!

CB70's are fine for ball python females up to about 2000 grams, however for larger females I believe they are a bit cramped and would like to see a bigger rack made. Don't know of any so I have some larger females (3000 grams plus) in boa vivs !

Thanks, John.
How common are females over 2000?
Is this pretty normal?
How old would a female that size be?
Also, do you always give them hides or do they outgrow them?
I never use hides with the boas.
Thanks in advance!
