Most online literature does not really specify, but I see hints that they may be largely nocturnal. (Usually true of desert & scrubland species at that latitude.)
I see prior posts indicating that this may be the favorite Rat Snake of all for Forum posters (second maybe the Gray Rat Snake?), but are yours typically active mostly during the day, night or both?
How about curiosity levels??

...I have only one male. He is very much daytime active, especially when his mate seeking impulse is triggered, and not at all shy. I often let him out in my snake room/office and he crawls all over high and low. In fact he almost seems attracted to me as I sit at the computer, even to the point of being a pest he crawls over my keyboard as I'm typing! Of course when in girl chasing mode he is a reluctant feeder but other than that he is the ultimate snake...and at 2 1/2 years old and almost 6 feet, his color is still changing...shifting yellow up front and getting more and more orange flame mid to rear. When you pick him up he will coil around your neck and hang...you just can't beat it!
