Incubation ??

Bombballz Feb 03, 2010 02:30 PM

Some of my females are starting to show signs of being gravid they are "glowing" and some appear to be starting to ovulate.. I started cooling last August and started introducing males in October. I had attempted breeding balls last season but ended up moving out of state and none of my balls produced. This season I cycled them have been breeding and now it looks like I may have some success. Anyways last season I planned on using a mini-fridge to incubate eggs since I only had 4 breeding size females. Now this season I have about 12 females that will be big enough to breed.

What would be a good suggestion for a incubator for me?? A incubation room/closet is not a option in my current situation..

This is my first time successfully breeding balls I attempted "Palpating" a couple of the females and I believe I felt some small follicles in at least 4 of them. About how far am I from having eggs? Estimate?

Any help is much appreciated!!!! Good luck to everyone this season!!!

Excellent! Your females will lay eggs aprox 30 days after there post ovulation shed. A mini fridge should be fine for 4 clutches. If you are planning on more I would upgrade to a full size fridge or freezer converted to a incubator.

Best of Luck!
Alan
