Any of my fellow northeast herpers out there? Holy cow, this stuff is getting deep fast. Digging in here in Maryland.

From lower Bucks County in PA - light snow is starting to pick up and the local store shelves are emptied of bread, milk, and eggs. Why do people think that making French toast is necessary to survive a blizzard? Herps are brumating in the basement, oblivious to what's going on outside. Definitely time for hunkering down. Good luck in Md -- you're supposed to get more snow than us!

Thanks. Good luck to you too. Funny, my wife and I were just laughing about how people with kill each other for milk and bread when it snows. WTF is that about. What about WATER?

I'm guessing WAAY back in the day, they probably ran out and got what they could from the cows and chickens while they still could, then hauled-a$$ back inside. They probably just opened the door and melted the snow for water...LOL!

I'll bet it is just a sort of habit you northerners do because your parents, and their parents did it out of necessity. Now everyone does it just to go through the motions. I could be very wrong here too, but it sounds very likely to me, even though I have been in Florida all my freakin life, and have only seen snow less than ten times...HAHAHAHAA!!

I feel for you bro, that's just too much snow and cold for me. I'll take California quakes anytime over that...LOL!

Nah, it happened in Colorado too...and my part of it had never been ranching country.
Me? Give me canned goods, thanks. I want something that won't spoil in a power out...

am just outside of DC....

I just got through shoveling 6 inches (cleared out part of the drive way and walks) ...only to look behind me and see a fresh 1+ inches of snow covering everything I just cleared! wtf. Dog has been outside playing with his soccer ball and trying to talk me into taking him for a walk in this mess...he is sulking now - too damn cold and tired to give in to him. why can't this snow be light and fluffy like the other storm was?? I don't fancy having to go out multiple times to try and keep up with the accumulations -- don't want to kill myself trying to do it all at once tomorrow.

Scooby with his soccer ball (yes he can carry the thing in his mouth sigh)

And my honeysuckle shrub (it likes to think that it's a tree)

This was last night... about 6 inches had fallen so far. Took the pic right before my night time outing to shovel snow.

.

And here is the end of the storm tonight. we got a solid 23 inches... maybe more than that due to compaction of wet snow from last night early this morning.

I'm in amarillo and we're STILL getting snow. Frigging weather. I've had to delay shipping pair of albino tiger reticulated pythons twice now. This SUCKS!
