whos breeding new england axanthics???

adamjeffery Feb 06, 2010 04:12 PM

i may have asked this question in the past but i could not find it with the search function.
i was wondering who is still working with the new england line of axanthic brooksi, not ones that are outcrossed into the darker anery lines but the ghostly bluish new england lines.
thanks in advance

I have been wanting to ask this same question.

As many of you know i produced most of the New England axanthics for over 15 years. recently i lost my lone male breeder and need to find another for the adult females i have.

As with other names that are abused out there the new England name for axanthics is also "used and abused" for outcrossed lines of axanthics namly the New England and Lemke axanthic crosses. These are not pure New Englands and do not turn out a bluish ghost color.

i remember talking to you last year some time and you said you quit breeding them together but were outcrossing them into hypo's and other morphs. as most know im not a purist but i have owned many pure lines and this is one i would like to purchase pure. im not saying i wouldnt own an outcrossed line as well but i really like the new englands and would appreciate a pure pair.

I agree with you 100%. the New England axanthics are only worth a darn if the are pure.

I sold NE axantics for years and every single one i sold came out great looking. Customers would alays tell me how great they turned out and then came back wanting to buy more. i had a waiting list that sold out every year before the season even started.

I have females and i guess i am going to continue using them to create other morph project hets unless I come across someone with a male from my line.

I have a pair that should be breeding this year. I've always loved the look of these. I could not believe there was a blue snake! Here is an older pic they are much bigger now.
