Brazilian Rainbow Boas

Jeff Clark Feb 07, 2010 03:25 PM

Photos of some of my Brazilian Rainbow Boas

This first one is rather dark. I am showing this one to show that Brazilians sometimes "look" like Peruvians. She has dark overall color with very dark markings. Both parents of this snake are much lighter in overall color and markings.

This one is my yellowest BRB. She was more yellowish when I got her from Tom Crutchfield in 1992. She had a couple litters in the mid 90s and then none for quite a long time. She has thrown small good litters the last two years. All of her babies have been normal looking and do not have her yellow color.

This one is a nice male I got from Dave Colling.

This one is my 2002 Walsh Clown Phase animal.

This is a large male going into shed.

This is a male het for hypo I got from Exotics By Nature.

This is a possible het female I got from Bryan Hummel.

This one has nice Moon Phase markings on his sides. Of course I got him from Tom Davis, the guy who is most known for producing this pattern.

More photos of Brazilian Rainbow Boas. All 11 of these were born here. The two in the last PIC are 18 months old. All the rest are 4 to 15 years old.

This next one is Sunkist. He was born here in 1995. Both of his parents were VERY dark brown and plain.

These two in the last PIC were born here in 2008.

That Walsh Clown is of course my favorite, I have always enjoyed that phase. However, I thought they all died out due to a weakness in their genetics? Is yours still alive?

Aubrey,
....I have that one female. She has always been a poor feeder. I thought I had her big enough to breed last year but she went off feed again and is still thin. AFAIK every other animal from that 2002 litter has died. Bryan Hummel got one live male baby from one of them before she died.
