All FL Burmese w Transmitters are Dead

BruceAlbinos Feb 08, 2010 05:33 PM

All Florida Burmese Pythons that were tagged for the invasive python study have been found dead. The USFWS has been holding off on releasing this information to the public. That is the information I have from close inside sources. I am not stating this as absolute fact, but my sources are usually very reliable.

It is my belief that the government scientists and officials may be withholding this information deliberately, until USFWS can get the 9 species of snakes declared injurious under the Lacey Act and therefore banned without the representation and input of the citizens of the USA. If this information came out now, the boas and pythons could not be declared injurious under the Lacey Act.

I hereby call upon US Federal Government Scientists Gordon Rodda, Frank Mazzotti, and Skip Snow to release this information regarding the number of deaths of all tagged snakes immediately.

I also hereby call on the Secretary of the Department of the Interior Ken Salazar and USFWS Director Sam Hamilton to release this information regarding the number of deaths of all tagged snakes immediately and halt any Lacey Act actions based upon any false or misleading evidence.

Why would you post that here??? Do you think they read this? Why not send it to them in writting or email with copies to all members of the committee and the Dept of the interior? Calling on them to do something here is just chest thumping, they will never see or hear.

How do you know he didnt write and email them already? Maybe he is on here making others aware of names, titles, etc... Maybe you should here him out, as he isnt the enemy? Nice move...talk about a "chest thumper"?

evansnakes Feb 09, 2010 10:06 PM

Oh shut up. who are you trying to impress with your mispelling?

zefdin Feb 09, 2010 10:09 PM

Not you big guy chest thumper...

At least the other person is directing his energy in a positive way. Clearly you have issues and are a very small person.

evansnakes Feb 10, 2010 02:30 AM

no, actually I am a pretty big guy. I guess you are only big behind your computer? But hey, if you have great felons like Tom on your side you must be good eh?

TOM_CRUTCHFIELD Feb 10, 2010 06:05 AM

If you're so big how come I can never find you at the expo in Daytona? Evan lighten up and have fun.LOL..I believe he means "little" as small minded not just stature which is correct. You always attack others for unknown reasons. People that do that usually have very low self esteem and by putting others down make themselves feel better. Hope you feel better this morning....

I am glad I wrote down your name and know your attitude towards other snake people, I would have reservations about buying any snakes from a little Napolean - Evan..

I applaud you sir for your good sense and choices...

My attitude toward other snake people is great. My patience for people who use sites like this as a soapbox to draw attention to themselves while doing nothing in the real world is an issue. And as far as your sad "little" and "napolean" commnents, ask around because I am willing to bet you fit that "little" descirption in many ways while I do not. Thanks for proving my point though. You dont want to be bothered with real action, you just want to talk.

actually on the team working with the telemetry project, says that this is NOT true-though he does imply that a large percentage of them are dead.

Either way, this is pretty compelling evidence that this species cannot establish persistent populations beyond south Florida.

If the researchers would just come out and report the TRUTH there would be NO speculation. I believe the results are deliberately being withheld until the injurious decree by USFWS can be made law. This decree is entirely based on Rodda's map and his later "peer reviewed paper". This minor amount of cold by U.S. standards proves beyond a doubt both the map and paper should be used as toilet paper because that's the real value of both. The snakes are having trouble hanging on even here much less in the southern third of the U.S. I have made several request for them to release just the stats on the snakes that were being monitored and so far mums the word...

use the media to advise joe public IF they do get the report and data supporting such! Why wait for the frigin government?

giantkeeper Feb 09, 2010 01:10 PM

We all need to contact our Senators and politely inform them that there may be evidence being withheld that would disprove the current model, and ask them to "force the hand".

It would be inappropriate for USARK to act based solely on rumor. But that doesn't mean that we can't do something to expedite the push to bring this forward.

IF Florida 'public funds' are being used in this study (study performed by a Florida gov't agency of ANY sort), ANYONE can enact the Sunshine Law and make a public records request and they have to comply by law. I'd strongly urge someone who knows more about who is conducting this study to make a contact immediately. If the funds are coming from the Federal level, then a Freedom of Information request will need be made.

If you someone has valid information or contacts, contact Fox news. They have been aggressively going after agencies & organizations who falsify, modify & withhold climate data.

I have seen video clips from Fox news defending personal liberties and large constrictors. Add personal liberties to falsified and withheld climate data & other critical data - such as frozen burmese pythons - and they will react.
