feeding chicken eggs to snakes

billysbrown Sep 20, 2003 10:01 AM

I'm curious about what types of snakes that people have had eat chicken or quail eggs. I assume that N. American rat snakes will eat them (and egg-eating snakes, of course), but what about kings/milks, boids, and so on? A lot of these are generalist feeders and I would assume that they include eggs in their diets in the wild.

Thanks,
Billy Brown

That's funny, I once had a laying cockatiel at the same time I had some cal kings. I never made that connection, though.

I think kingsnakes will eat anything when they're hungry, he tried to eat my girlfriend. He swallowed her index finger all the way up to her hand and we had to hold him under water to get him to let go.
