Black Throat Healthy?

I recently bought a black throat monitor that was advertised in the kingsnake classifieds as "CBB." When I received it, it appeared to be in poor health. It looked emaciated and dehydrated.

When I contacted the seller, he said that that's the way black throats are supposed to look-- and that the one he sent me looked like the one in his ad.

Check out the link attached to this for pictures. If there are any black throat experts reading this, please let me know your opinion of this monitor's health.
