Here is a Vivid Male . . .

Here is a Minesinger Female . . .

Thanks, Aubrey. The cream-colored female is one of my favorites, too. She was a nice, clear yellow as a hatchling with lots of orange on her tail and around her neck (see picture below). She just kept getting lighter as she grew. Also, a lot of her "black" has faded to various shades of brown, so I think she is somewhat hypomelanistic. Can't wait to see if that's a heritable trait!

Sweet all around but the Minesinger is very nice!

Thanks, Todd, she's probably my favorite, too. Which of the males would try with her first? I'm thinking the Vivid orange male, since his black is reduced . . .

pikiemikie Feb 15, 2010 11:06 AM

Kind of exciting, right Tom? Mike

yep, my thoughts as well, that would be a great pairing, although either would be a great pairing, lol!

Tom,

Those are some really nice snakes. I really like the head shot of your Vivid male. Love the detail...good job on those pics. I have a male from Minesinger who I think will turn out alot like your female. He is a light cream with tangerine blush on his neck and tail:

He's a stunner! All those spots and alternates make for a really nice package.

Thanks Josh. He is clutchmate to the two aberrants that John Lassiter posts. I am looking forward to both watching him grow and seeing what he will throw with my aberrant girls.

Craig -- Sweet male you have there. He looks more like a bone white as opposed to the cream color on my female. How old is he?

Tom

Beaker30 Feb 15, 2010 11:13 PM

Tom,

He is kinda whitish now, but definite cream undertones. He is an 09. I am really interested to see what you get from your girl. Good luck and keep us posted. Pics are required...lol.

Craig -- As I learned to say while working in Nebraska, "You bet!"

This forum is a wonderful resource for us "crazies" to share our common obsessions. It puts the "fun" in dysfunctional!

This first one is very nice (I'm a big bow tie fan).

Have any of these bred for you in the past?

I like "Mr. Bowties", too. He was my very first thayeri - almost like a first cigarette - LOL!

None have bred so far - I'm hoping for some luck with this first breeding year for the thayeri. They have been cooled to between 45 and 50 F for just under three months. I have bred Cal. kings, hondurans, sinaloans, pueblans, and corns, so I will know what to do with fertile eggs if they appear!

I wish you all the luck this year.....

BTW...I just re-housed 45 adults tonight after 85 days of brumation.....I will get the rest re-housed tomorrow and take some pics to share......

Thanks, John. This is a fun time to see all the snakes again after such a long time. Unfortunately, now come all the the mouse bills! LOL. -- Tom
