There are a few signs to lok for if your female is gravid. First of all the male they are in the tank with will be displaying breeding behaviors such as a very black beard and bobbing of the head. The female may also show breeding behavior by waving of her hand or bowing. The female when she becomes gravid will get very bloated looking and if you feel her stomach it should feel like there are some pebbles in her stomach. The females also will begin to dig when they are getting ready to lay there eggs. This when it is a good indication to start putting them in tthe laying bin a couple hours a day to see if she will lay and bury her eggs. Main thing to make sure when you think a female is gravid is to make sure there getting plenty of calcium and protein. Hope this helps.
