How cool is that?

CrimsonKing Feb 16, 2010 07:50 PM

I recently learned that my photo entered in the Holiday Herp Contest/Natural Herps on Kingsnake, won a prize. I recieved gift card $$ today for use at PetSmart. Cool!
Many thanks to PetHobbyist and everyone here.
Of course, thanks to the magnificent female southern hognose for displaying so nicely for me!

Good for you. Congratulations!

Mark -- I can see why the picture won. You really captured the hognose in the throes of its fake agony. What an amazingly complex behavior for an animal with such a small brain. And it must work! Congratulations. --Tom

I of course LOVED the shot! It was so classic and wonderful! Glad to hear you got the gift cards. I know petsmart isnt the store of choice for herpers, but every little bit helps and there is enough cross over to regular pet supplies!

Glad to see one of my troublemakers won!

Ahh!,.....very nice Cindy!. Is the Savu pretty nippy?. As you probably already know, Savu's, Macklot's, and many other Liasis, etc... are usually pretty notorious for being pretty defensive when very young, then tend to be much better as they mature.

I remember my first Macklot's clutch decades ago,....boy, were those sucker's pure HELL ON WHEELS!..LOL!

I hasn't been as of yet. I got the larger of the three. It did bite at Mark bell when he took it out of the display. Mark was shocked and mentioned they didn't bite at home. But I take a hands off for the first week or so just going in and cleaning and making sure water is available. We will feed this weekend and see. I do like to let them adjust before I really mess with them.

Yes, I certainly agree with you there on not stressing it out in the new environment.

Good luck with those sweet acquisitions Cindy!
