Greetings,
I have a few questions that I am hoping some of you may be able to answer for me. I have built a wood cage for my green anaconda. I am a long time keeper of these species. However I am new to Helix and would like some input for these thermostats and also Radiant heat panels. I have always used Ceramic heat emitters and sun bulbs. I am interested in using a 80watt rhp with a Helix DBS 1000. I also wish to use it for the night drop as well. The cage is plywood with arcrylic front for the doors. This cage is for my test cage to see how this type of setup will work before I use them in my bigger cages. This cage is 4 x 2 x 2. It is a little on the tall side but my larger ones are in the 8 foot range. And this will be used for isolation for a small new comer. Are Helix reliable ?? Are they easy to set up?? I see the adapter for the night drop. Can you only use 1 of these units per cage? I would also like to know how these RHP work out for users. Do they last long or burn out fast. Do they provide reliable and consistant heat? My house here in NH stays 68 - 70 durning the winter months, I wonder how they do to keep up the ambient temp and with humidity. Do they over heat the cage when using a sun bulb for the basking spot. Thanks for any info and for reading this post.
