The recovery power of kingsnakes

I took in a sickly, stick thin poor little ol Fl. king back in early October. Some of ya'll remember my posting on the forum about him, I'm sure. I first weighed him on 10/18/09. He was 41 grams--this was after some hydration and a small meal or two. He was at least six months old. to compare--I've got a trio of either 9/09 or 10/09 (I can't remember) babies from Rainier, the *smallest* of which is 80 grams now and nearly as 24" long (he's just shy of the length of his 28 quart tub).

I just weighed him in about 20 minutes ago--he's 253 grams. He's gone from stick thin to big and bold I'll get pictures up as soon as I find my damn memory card...but he's now about 30" in length give or take. He's also one of the nicest snakes I've had temper wise and seems fond of curling on my arm while I do his cage work--I open the cage to clean, water, etc and he just crawls on my arm and stays there. I've actually fed him while he's wrapped around my wrist (I know...it's an SFE waiting to happen but damnit, he's cute and harmless). I feed him tomorrow, and I may try to have the wife take pictures while I feed him some small mice.

He's named Chomper, due to his unrelenting destruction of anything small enough to eat...and a few mice too large to eat. He'll still scarf down a pinky pretty happily, and winds up with extras from finicky house snakes

....... the "Hulkster" has ALWAYS been dead against people letting their snakes wither away from neglect! Just the mention of it really set him off, even as a small toddler
