Awesome "Silkie" cream product

atldragons Feb 18, 2010 10:33 AM

The best non-hypoallergenic cream we have found to use yet for our Silkie, Kapone, is called "Udderly Smooth"... You can purchase it at your CVS pharmacy. It comes in a mini tub with Cow Spotting on the label. Very inexpensive and allows a nice MOIST shed, not a dry and flaky one. You can also use it on Leopard Geckos as well... So you dont have to stress on a super high humidity when comes time for shedding.

I suggest making sure it is unscented as well (if it even comes scented...never used the stuff myself but have heard of it being very good for dry human skin (and cow udders, which was what it originally was designed for, but has been available for human use for several years now. Pretty sure you can get it at any large chain department store (its available at Sears here in Canada...not sure if Sears is in the US at all..but I am sure anyplace that sells a wide selection of cosmetics would carry it)

Perfumes can be an irritant to dragons, to the skin and by scent.
