Oil based stain or water based?

calebjg Feb 19, 2010 05:26 PM

Does it matter since I will be putting a polyurethane over it?

Just want to make sure I dont poison the snakes.
Thanks

I am not an expert on the chemical properties of stains, but it is my understanding that the oils evaporate during the drying process, making the remaining stain, in theory, nontoxic.

At any rate, I would make sure the stain is completely dry before putting the polyurethane over it.
