I have used three different webhosts, Here are my impressions of each -
AIT - Advanced Internet Technologies first sounded good to me because it was started by a bunch of former military people and had great features. They have great service and good features for the price. I would still be with them if it weren't for the next host I found when it was time to renew my account.
Dreamhost - Dreamhost has some of the best features I've ever seen in a webhost at prices that are very reasonable for what you are getting. They gave me a month free because I was a college student when I signed up. Some of the things they have that others usually don't are - multiple domains, you can have up to 3 domain names on the same account; 15 subdomains (name.yourname.com); Large drives - I think they're up to 500mb on the plan I'm using (even though most websites don't even reach 25mb each, it's nice to have more); amazing tech support; Dreambook - Their guestbook program is one of the best I've used, and very very easy to set up; Control Panel - This is a much easier control panel than the one on AIT.
Lastly, Doteasy - Doteasy touts a free website with $25 domain registration. This is a barebones service, with add on cost for cgi bin, etc. They also had a less than spectacular server uptime.
I highly recommend Dreamhost. They have a plan that starts at 9.99, but if you have more than one site, the next plan up is a good choice.
There are others out there and many, many resellers. Good luck.
