Those are Chocolate bananas that BlueRosy posted. Pure chocolates are probably the solid brown Cal kings also known as melanistic Cal kings. Some have just a hint of pattern in places or even just a few specks of pattern. I remember seeing them on Kerby's web site a while back.

Yes those are chocolate bannanas and have sugar in them as well as bannanas.
Chocolate in its pure from has no sweeteners.

But I was wondering if the ones you call Pure were being labeled like that because some of the solid brown patternless ones had some other sub species mixed in like maybe from a MBK? Just curious if you had your suspicions?

ps Very nice snakes as always

But I do believe that some Blizzards have Baja Kings (which are now cal kings) in them. I do know that the hypermelanistic in the Blizzard mix (Albino & Hypermelanistic) is the same gene as the hypermelanistic in the Mendota and Davis cal kings.
Kerby...
Just curious, not implying anything...as you probably know I despise imply-ers.
I did see two people who each had what they believed to be male Hypo MBKs which were solid brown and really similar looking to the one you posted, but I don't know if either of the guys took the time to work on the project to test theories.
My one purple passion got sick over winter so I am uncertain if I will get anywhere this season... I really hope so because theyre sure cool looking in person as adults but hard as hell to photograph. Babies are supposed to intense and dark so wish me luck

NOPE!
I dont miss this, and truthfully I never left. I watched plenty of "discussions" on here and was glad I stayed out of them.
I cooled most everything last winter, and have been preparing for the big wake up coming soon. I look forward to posting pics and seeing other peoples pics too, but thats about it.
After my 4th year breeding I realized the best way to stay happy is to give it all a rest, so that's what I do every winter from now on. That includes posting on the forum...but spring fever hit me so I am becoming possessed again... sssssssssssssss

BACK in the closet you devil, back, I say! C'mon, Tom, you know you love it! 'sides, when you know what YOU know, you don't have to prove nuthin' to the nay sayers! Do what you do! I'm gonna have me some of Tom's WW specks breed for me this year and your MBKs as well, I'm glad I didn't get into your pines right away, I'd be done for!

I have at least 9 Pines in my group now and am considering keeping even more from my 09s. I like them even more than Kings. Cant wait to see your babies this season, I am no longer working with straight White Sided Specks, I sold my group except for one female but I have 2.2 for the double het Albino/White Sided project.

HA! if I had to choose I'm not sure which I'd keep...the retics just floor me with thier everything. It's like a 20' kingsnake. About equal feeding response and attitude.
