Five days of 32* took it's toll on the..

I'm a class III collector here in Sarasota, Fl, been collecting rats and kings for 20 years, but we just had a week of freezes at night (first time here in 37 years)and the day after I collected 150 anoles while out scarlet king hunting and placed them in a 20 gal. glass aquarium and put a heat lamp on 'em, the next day 20 were alive, I have since fed 'em all off and need more for my collection but I cant find a single anole now anywhere, even out on the berrier islands where the low temps are higher than were at my house three miles inland, but anyway I'm finding the snakes are starving, I'm finding baby reds (corns) thinner than pencils, I'm thinking their all doomed, I'm going to call it a "Massive Dieoff" anloes and snakes, I did see one green anole (native)today, he was nestled up right next to a brown anole's (invasive) clean skeleton under some tree bark. some folks here like to chew me out for collecting Scarlet kings and Im always offering in my defence contenders such as ants, dogs, roads, and forest fires, but now massive numbers are lost and regretfully only a few people breed them, I hope those of you whom do have my kings are sucsessful with them because this will likely take years to recover. I never thought I would need lizards! This is Devastating!... JB

Let nature take it's course. Your strip mining of the scarlet population & anole population won't help the cause.

JEASE! Did you not read my post? DEAD! were all the lizards and I cant help but wonder how many of the kings I did collect would have frozen or starved this year. I must have driven past a thousand kings on my way out to the spot where I collect and walked over or past hundreds of them in the woods too, dont be so gullable! the anoles are invasive, they dont count, and besides I only collected them for the snakes that I did collect to eat like they would have IN THE WOODS. Collectors are responsable for any new fresh genes, and when all wild snakes are gone the officals will scratch their heads and wonder where they went wrong... PIGS,FIRE ANTS,ROADS and Urban sprawl...BIG SNAKES DONT STAND A CHANCE LEFT ALONE, at least not in the central south (flat)part of the state! the little snakes will always be in the woods. JB

I do tend to get wound up when people poke me on this forum, probably due to the fact that it was titled "The Collectors Forum", remember that...now all the people that post here "just take pictures" hahaha!
