Sunday so took some pics...

BNixon Feb 21, 2010 10:36 AM

As the title mentions I was a bit bored so snapped a few pics going through the cages before feeding a few animals...

First up is my het BWC girl...she is due Mid April she was bred by a het BWC so looking forward to seeing some Caramels from her...she spends most of her days lurking under the paper....

Here is a pic of my Ghost female she was bred by a Albino Jungle so lets hope to see some Hypo Jungles het Snow on the way....also due mid April

She was looking pretty nice today she is a Motley het Anery ph Albino bred by a Ghost het Albino due early May

This is the same Ghost het Albino male working on a big Anery het Albino girl...

Here is a pic of one of the new ones...I recently picked up 2.2 Anery PH Sharps from Ryan they are settling in well!

The little Roswell Lattertail girl was looking good...

Once she returned to her tub she was very angry with me and didnt hesitate to tell me about it

He shed out a few days ago so I decided he was looking camera ready...this is the Motley het Sharp I picked up from Dan Brown

I just love how light this guys neck is and how "rusty" his tail is.

A Colorful Hypo Jungle who shed a few days ago too.

My 07 Sharp Girl...she is a feisty little monster...she hasnt gotten me yet but that not a lack of effort on her part...

As you can see her friendly demeanor

If you made it this far I am impressed and hope you enjoyed taking a look at a few pics.

Also just a quick question to anyone during there breeding practices...I have heard of a few people who will feed their gravid females a small meal once every few weeks...what is everyones take on this?

Again thanks for checkin' it out.

Nice pics!

I am a fan of feeding while gravid. When I first stated breeding I didnt feed them, and still had successful litters. But then I talked to someone about it, and it made sense, the little bit of nourishment seems to help both momma and the babies during gestation. Of course much smaller meals more spread out. I now feed my females md-smaller large rats, (they normally eat jumbos or xxl) every 3-4 weeks while gravid. then I do not feed within the last 4-5 weeks to the babies being born. Has worked nicely for me, although I don't really have anything negative to say either way. Personal choice I suppose. Both seem to be successful, I just prefer to feed in an attempt to keep both momma and babies as healthy as possible.

Thats what I was thinking...one of my buddies does similar was just feeling it out to hear others thoughts...it certainly does make sense...keeps mom healthier and the babies would have more to grow from so bigger and healthier babies its a win win.

I offer food, usually a medium rat. Some eat and some won't. Obviously, it is better for them if they will eat. So...give it a try. Your collection is beautiful, and I hope the Het Boawoman Caramel project goes great.

Thanks that's the general thought I have received....I have given a few girls a small meal so I will keep up with that maybe every other week or so and someone mentioned a month or so prior to expected date to then stop feeding at that time.

I really do hope the het BWC project works out well as well they are under-appreciated and look awesome.

Looks good. Good luck with the great projects. That motley is looking good.

You would know a thing or two about him as he came from you. All the motleys and hypo Motleys in you're litters seemed to have that same look they all looked great.
