red leg disease?

cfgirl00 Sep 20, 2003 04:03 PM

I recently purchased a grey tree frog and I was cleaning out his cage when I noticed a bit of orangey color on the underside of his legs. It looks like the color of iodine. I kept him out of the tank incase this is red leg. I can't find a picture of a frog with red leg, and I don't want to put him back until I find out for sure. He doesn't seem to be acting ill. Can someone please send me a picture or tell me what I should do with him. Is this possible natural coloring?
Help!

are you sure it is not the warning markings on the frog. Gray tree frogs on their underside usually have som yellow or orange colaration, on the mean time keep his cage clean, also try google images and type in redleg and frog.

Thanks. Turns out, it was just natural markings and he is back home and very happy.
