I have a few Ball Pythons at home now, but would like to get a Boa. But because of space available in my office / snake room (and because of my wife) I need to find a Boa that will not exceed 8 or 9 foot as an adult. So I am now looking for a Male BCI.

Here’s my question, if I go to the White Plains show, or find one in the classifieds, or even at the local Reptile Shop, how do I know if it’s a BCI, or a BCC, Boa?

I like the looks of the Salmon, and the Sunglows. Would these be concidered BCI, or could they be either or?

Thanks....

You're unlikely to end up with a boa larger than 9' long regardless of what subspecies you end up with. So if you want a BCI, BCC, BCA, BCO, etc, buy it!!
Genetics and feeding will determine how large or small your boa ends up. If you're concerned, ask the breeder how large the parents are. You can also mimic a natural feeding schedule which will likely keep your boa on the smaller side of their size range. Be wary of a person willing to tell you what you want to hear!!

Oh you will know.... If it's BCC, they will advertise it as such because it increases value....and if you're buying it in a pet shop then you can get on a bci.....

Honestly though.... do some research... really figure out what you like the best... there is a boa out there for everyone... There are non bci boas that stay under 6 feet also... Look at Bolivian amarali..... Some people have been producing amazing colors lately.... also North and South Brazilians tend to stay alot smaller than BCC from the north like surinames and Guyanas

Her are some pics of smaller underated races of boas
