Label these pics please

JTColubrids Feb 23, 2010 12:30 PM

Here are some pics that I just took of different morphs, hets, and normals. I will post what they actually are but am curious what they "look like" to those who do not know what they actually are. Please label each picture twice, first saying if the snake expresses some sort of hypomelanism or not and second saying what morph it is or if it is a het or normal. Thanks in advance!

Here is just a pic as an example of the eyes of the pewter that I was talking about

You are trying to trick people aren't you?

i know what they are but am curious to what Zenny has to say.

I should have just called the jellies and t negs tootsie rolls. Or just called all of them t negs. or or or or...

this is fun watching it all unfold and these things finally getting the attention they deserve.

Wehn will you post a pic of that purple passion florida king?

Haha! It's just hard for me to tell how similar they look to others because I know what they are and what genes they are carrying as I see them every day. I believe its the snake in pic #9 that is the "Dark Swampland" also, the "swamp Jelly" is in there too

I like to really LOOK (Pattern, belly pattern, speckling, eye color, etc...) at snake before i make judgement calls as to what they are. here i mainly see PB's Jellies , Hets & one or two hypos... is the "golden PB" pictured?

#13 is a killer PB het i produced and sold to Mark gable... it turned out GREAT looking... looks like a freak'n PB! I wanted to keep it sooo bad, but i keep too much stuff every season... i could see it'd be a killer adult... too bad some people just don't have the eye for these things and will see that het and over look it... then kick themselves 2yrs later when they see it full grown and speckled out all the way!

As far as the "Pewter" situation... seeing how BLUE your "Pewter" is... i'm pretty sure it's not the same as Rainers...

JTColubrids Feb 23, 2010 07:22 PM

1-5 are all PBs, some are het for axanthic. 6,7,10 are Jellies, 8 and 12 are hypos the second is a hypo flame from lindsay pike, 9 and 15 are plain normals, 11 and 13 are het PBs and your PB Zenny is insane! The belly looks the same as the sulfurs that I have, unfortunately my camera sucks at showing yellows. And 14 is a het hypo poss het axanthic and lavender that is just killer IMO. The second PB looks like a Jelly to me but it came from a PB to Het PB from Tom Stevens. The first normal female is from breeding a Jelly to the mother that produced rainer's "Pewter" and is sibblings to the yellowish Jelly pictured and another Jelly that I did not post. And Zenny my Hybino is all over everything this year and I'm REALLY excited to see if I get lucky and produce some of my own

ZFelicien Feb 23, 2010 07:30 PM

Sweet! Hope you do produce some Hybinos! one morph i dont mind seeing more of! it's still cold here so no breeding action for me just yet... guess i just got lucky last year when the hybino X 2x het bred last in the middle of january last season?

JTColubrids Feb 23, 2010 07:53 PM

I hope you produce more of those in 2010 because those things are INSANE, your breeder male is the S***! Are the white lips that you posted a few months back ready to go??

JTColubrids Feb 23, 2010 07:51 PM

This snake wasn't in those pics because she is in cooling still, but here she is, cold and groggy

As you can see she hasn't kept all her Red, SHE HAS GOTTEN MORE!!!

ZFelicien Feb 23, 2010 08:07 PM

That snake is freakishly hypo looking! But very nice! hopefully it'll breed true.

My White-face pair look ready but it's all up to them... they feed great but i dont count my hatchlings before they pip

JTColubrids Feb 23, 2010 08:14 PM

It really does but It came from the 007 line which was anery x lav x PB so something must be going on with the other traits that make it look as dark red as it is. It seems like anything with anery in it makes certain colors intensify. And it would be sweet if you did get some white lips! Those two ghosts that I got from you will hopefully produce this year and I am excited about trying to make a ghost that looks like the male (hopefully soon to be father)

And i used a sulfur lav that was het anery to the PB. So the color from the sulfur gene has maybe added a little something too.

But i agee that the anery seems to be the culprit of coloring up the Golden Pb as well as the Peabino.
