Question on monitor behavior

eschmit04 Feb 23, 2010 08:40 PM

So a little while back I asked if anyone has ever put a shirt with their scent in the cage with their monitor? I often do this with my retics when they are getting used to me and have had great success with it. My Blue tail has already grow accustom to me working in the cage. Tonight I put my shirt in his cage and left him be. He was out and about and I cam back and found him "exploring my shirt"... I did not know what to make of this so I slowly pulled him out thinking he may have got stuck int there.. He walked to the other side of the cage and when I came back again he was laying in it with his head out. Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before?

I have never put my clothes in a cage before but my monitors love to go in my clothes when I hold them. They are very curious so they like to check things out. I'd say your monitor is behaving normal.

I was just very intrigued by the behavior. He can out of his hide non stop and kept "checking it out" He kept crawling in it. He is not to comfortable with me yet, but he certainly didn't have a problem with my scent in is cage..

It makes little difference to your monitor. Put anything in his enclosure and he'll check it out.

What is your set-up like for your Blue tail monitor? PM me.
