condensation

quazyboi Feb 25, 2010 06:54 PM

Hi everyone,

I purchased a 4 lvl rack that holds 28q tubs for my ball pythons. Everything is good with the rack, but my only problem is the tubs always build up condensation so quickly. I have numerous holes that were drilled into the tubs. What is causing the condensation infront of the tubs. Any advice would be appriciated. thanks

the heat strip is in the back, so the condensation is strongest in the front / cool end.

some condensation is good for balls - and somewhat moist balls are natural. i'm sorry, i know, but that was just begging to be said...

if the paper / substrate is wet, further than an inch or two back from the front, then it's too wet - drill more holes. otherwise, they prefer some moisture... helps with shedding.

thanks for the response. Just making sure i wasn't messing up something, but if thats the case then i guess i can leave it as is. The snake honestly do shed perfectly in one piece with this rack system.

Thanks

If the waterdish is near or on the heattape, that could cause excessive condensation. That and a recent poop.

yea some condensation/humidity is definitely ok. these guys spend a lot of time hiding in burrows/logs/confined spaces on the ground and are no stranger to some humidity....too dry is a much worse problem.
