Still raining and in the low 60's, I started to warm up about half of my collection on the 15th, Few Thayeri and a Grey Band started to take mice last weekend, but the pyros were not in the food mode yet. I tried again tonight and one of the pyros ate a few hoppers, but she was kind of reluctant about them but finely took a them.

I'm not into morphs but that top one is so nice looking it makes me feel guilty for kind of liking it. LOL

Good luck with them.

Very nice axanthic!

I've got a girl that should be ready to go this season, too!

I've got a very high-yellow male that's het-albino and a het-axanthic- not sure which I'm going to pair her up with yet.

Wow Rainer....You like them better than the New England Axanthic Floridana?

The strange thing is there seems to be two different strains of Axanthic Splendida too.....I don't know if anyone has crossed them to see if the genes are compatible.

There are some bluish ones and there are some white ones...

Todd,
Does your High-Yellow Male have a larger yellow pattern with a smaller black patterned area?
If so.....
I think it would be cool to try to produce an axanthic that is High White......I would breed it to the high yellow and try to increase the white patterned area.....
Then you can possibly produce some albinos that have a lot more yellow pattern on it than the ones in the hobby today......

????? The only splendidas I have are the high white Hebbronvilles and some growing Agua Dulces and a single Nueces county female, the chain king looking one. The Island kings are messy, high yellow, but not great looking. And we know what they are, basically, so not sure which splendy you're talking about? Or is it holbrooki? lol, you have too many projects for me to keep up with! The Calhoun males are all high yellow, but again, we know what's going on there as well.

Todd....I really like your Hebronville Splendida, but that wasn't what I was talking about.....
I was talking about breeding a high yellow (PATTERN - Like an Arizona Splendida) to an axanthic and trying to produce and axanthic with huge areas of white with smaller black blotches down the dorsum...
