I've been getting some really thin bordered almost pin border Okeetees and they are from pure Abbott bloodlines. Does anyone else get these?

Yes,as a matter of fact my first female breeder had some thin borders and I usually end up with a few rvery year.Turns out the said female was het. for hypo!Beautiful snake you have there by the way! Jeff

Thanks Jeff! Maybe that explains some of the interesting things I am getting with my Abbotts. I found a male corn crossing the road on my way to work one day. I actually nicked the corner of it's eye cause I was in a hurry and It was strung out almost across my whole lane. But anyway, I managed to stop and sudue the beast so I threw it in a snake bag. Every one always carries anske bags with them right? I did not get a reallt good look at it till I got in my (work)truck and low and behold it looked very much like an Okeetee only with washed out colors. Well to get to the punch, I decided to mate him to my original Abbott female to see what pops out. Well as hatchlings the babies didn't look too interesting but I kept a handfull to see what they will look like. They keep getting better and better and the thing is that all of them have this glow which has to be some type of hypo. They almost remind me of Lavas or sunkissed only not so exagerated. This year I will breed a couple to each other and see what happens next. Let me see if I can post some pics.

OK those above are the parents, and the next ones are some of the offspring.

Wow! That's a beautiful animal!I can see what you mean about the hypo thing!Keep in touch and keep me updated with lots of pics when you breed the offspring. Here's a pic of the female Abbott I mentioned that had a "different" look to me and turned out to be het. hypo. Take care! Jeff

Wow that looks like a male hold back I kept from 06. Maybe Mr. Abbott was doing some hypo experiments or they just popped up in his bloodline?

I got a beautiful okeetee from Don Soderberg that is a "thin line" okeetee. I'm not 100 percent sure but I believe he said it had abbotts blood. It's been about six or seven years but I think that's what he said. Either way he's always been one of my favorite snakes in my collection.

Nice! I love the classic thick black Okeetees but these are very nice too, I think.
